hire a Park, Foreshore or sportsground

The Whitsunday region is a popular place to hold a wedding or host business and sporting events, conferences and festivals - it's an ideal location for any event.

To hire a park, foreshore or sportsground owned by Council, you must complete an Event Application Form, located in the right hand menu, as well as the indemnity form and Statutory Declaration as part of your application.  Events are classifies according to the type of event and number of people expected to attend. The application will be assessed based on these criteria:
 
Event Class Type No. of Attendees Application Deadline
 Class 1 - Major Events >1000 people 3 months prior to event
Class 2 - Major Events 200 - 1000 people 3 months prior to event
Class 3 - Minor Events <200 people 1 month prior to event
Class 4 - Weddings <200 people 1 month prior to event
Class 5 - Family Gatherings      <50 people 1 month prior to event

Most areas have access to amenities blocks close by and power can be accessed by prior arrangement at most sites.

Hire fees are applicable and can be found in Council's Fees and Charges document.  Please note, a bond may be required in certain circumstances, which will be refunded after the event if the site is left in a suitable condition.
