Operation Knock Knock is a new multi-agency, state-wide initiative aimed at raising awareness of the importance of resilience, preparation for hazards, and community connectedness.
On September 15 staff and volunteers from emergency services, volunteer organisations and local government will be knocking on doors and setting up stalls at locations across Queensland to discuss important safety messages.
This initiative will focus on locals, emergency services, government and other organisations working together to build resilience.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) Commissioner Katarina Carroll said Operation Knock Knock would encourage community spirit.
“QFES spends a lot of time ensuring we are prepared for emergencies and disasters and we want to ensure every Queensland household is equipped with the knowledge they need to prepare,” she said.
“Know your risk, be prepared, and ensure you are connected with your community because when times get tough, that’s when we need to work together.”
