Local residents will be the stars of a regional community spirit video initiative by Whitsunday Regional Council to be filmed early June.
Council is calling for locals to be the faces of the video and to register their interest, with registrations closing Thursday 25 May.
The video is a new initiative by Council to foster community spirit in the wake of Cyclone Debbie and promote the Whitsunday region as the perfect place to live, work and invest.
Whitsunday Regional Mayor Andrew Willcox said the new video would highlight the strength and resilience of the people who live here and the natural wonders in our own backyard.
“We are looking for local faces in local places, to show how our community spends their everyday in the wonderful and diverse Whitsunday Region,” he said.
“The whole point of this video is to visually celebrate our Whitsunday utopia, the tropical paradise which others envy but our residents call home.
“We want to feature authentic local faces and personalities so I encourage anyone who is keen to register their interest by visiting the Your Say Whitsunday website,” Mayor Willcox said.
The shoot is expected to begin in early June and will take place over several weeks in different parts of the region.
