Whitsunday Regional Council is working with Tract Consultants to upgrade and improve Gideon Pott Park, Ethel Barker Park and Henry Darwen Park.
Whitsunday Regional Council Mayor Andrew Willcox is encouraging all interested residents to drop by the public displays on the weekend to view the concept plans and provide feedback to the designers.
“The improvements suggested in the concept plans include new park furniture, improved facilities and new landscaping,” he said.
“We have an opportunity to create a space for the community which is based on your needs and wants for the area, and we are open to your ideas.”
The consultants will bring along design plans for each park display, along with some images showing ideas which have been popular in other parks around Australia.
After the public consultation closes on 9 July 2017, the consultants will finalise the concept plans.
Have your say on the concept plans at:
• Ethel Barker Park - Saturday 1 July from 8am to 11am, and Sunday 2 July at the Bowen Markets between 8am and 11am
• Gideon Pott Park - Saturday 1 July from 11.30am to 3pm
• Henry Darwen Park - Sunday 2 July from 1pm to 3.30pm
Residents can also view the concept plans online at Council’s consultation hub, Your Say Whitsunday, and leave their comments on the design.
