Whitsunday Regional Council will be opening an extra Customer Service Centre at Whitsunday Plaza in Cannonvale, from January 2018.
The brand new Customer Service counter will allow residents in the area to make enquiries and payments more easily.
There will also be two meeting rooms so Councillors and council officers can book meetings with members of the public locally.
Mayor Andrew Willcox said the new office was a positive step forward for a more convenient option for residents in the Airlie Beach and Cannonvale area.
“The new office will be a Customer Service Centre only, and the main point of contact with Council for locals,” he said.
“Our council office staff currently located in Cannonvale will be returning to Proserpine once the administration building has been fixed up next year.”
The new office is expected to be ready to open to the public in mid-to-late January 2018.The Customer Service Centre will be located at the southern end of Whitsunday Plaza, opposite Woolworths.
