Whitsunday Regional Council has initiated several regional visual amenity and beautification projects since Cyclone Debbie to enhance community pride within our region.
Acting Mayor Cr John Collins said the region wide beautification and public amenity enhancement projects helped create a sense of pride amongst residents and also attracts tourists and business to the Whitsunday region.
Projects, completed or underway, include the RV Park and showgrounds in Collinsville, a range of public park rejuvenations and shade covering right across the region, the Beautiful Bowen project, Airlie Foreshore Revitalisation project and new plantings and works in Proserpine Main Street.
Council appeals to the community to assist in maintaining the appearance of our towns by ensuring footpaths are well maintained.
Residents are reminded that footpath maintenance is the responsibility of the property owner.
