“Council will be able to draw on the knowledge and experience of representatives on the IRG from the local building, construction and business industries,” she said.

“As a technical reference group the IRG will be asked to review and provide input on specificplanning scheme drafting matters and draft material including but not limited to; strategicframework, zones, overlays and associated codes,” she said.
“As part of participating in the IRG, Council will look to its members to participate in regularmeetings and provide ongoing input into the review of draft policy material associated with the new planning scheme.
“The IRG will not replace any form of general community consultation intended to be carried out for the new planning scheme.
“Rather, is seeking early input from key industry stakeholders prior to completing a draft planning scheme.
“Full community consultation will still be carried out on the new draft planning scheme in the2014/2015 financial year,” she said.
