Whitsunday Regional Libraries welcomes author Annabelle Brayley who will give author talks on
her book ‘Nurse of the Outback’, at all four Whitsunday Regional Libraries on the 28th and 29th
May.
Mayor Jennifer Whitney said ‘Nurse of the Outback’ is Annabelle Brayley’s second book and as a former nurse she knows how to share the experiences and challenges of remote area nursing
through her storytelling.
“At the author talks Annabelle will discuss ‘Nurse of the Outback’ where she tells stories of remote nursing from rural and regional Queensland and New South Wales,” Mayor Whitney said.
“The talks will be a great free community event, with light refreshments being served and I
encourage interested people to contact their local library for more information about attending.
“When Annabelle decided to retire from healthcare to pursue her passion for storytelling it wasn’t
hard to find inspiration amongst the intrepid and spirited people of regional Australia.
“Annabelle frequently tells the stories of people who live and work in the bush and is well
respected for her reputation for accuracy, honesty and sensitivity and that enables people to tell
their stories without fear of prejudice or sensationalism,” she said.
