With less than a month until nominations close for the Queensland Achievement and CommunityAwards it’s time to put the call out to nominate.
Mayor Jenny Whitney said the Awards provided an opportunity to acknowledge and rewardcommunity groups, businesses and individuals for outstanding achievements in regional and rural areas.
“Too often the achievements of those working in rural and regional areas are overlooked - theseAwards provide an opportunity to encourage, support and thank them for their contributions,” she said.
The Awards are focused on recognising small to medium sized businesses, organisations involved in promoting the community through events and tourism, sustainable businesses and organisations within the energy and mining resources sector, individuals providing leadership and initiative, and community groups enhancing the social, economic, commercial and environmental prosperity of their region.
Nominations are now open in the following categories:
?The Prime Super – Community of the Year Award?The Peabody – Environment and Landcare Award?Origin on Behalf of Australia Pacific LNG – Regional Service Award?The Reay Services – Energy and Sustainability Award?The Buzz Print – Events and Tourism Award?The Safeguard – Youth Leadership Award
Nominations close on Friday 22 August, and the winners will be announced on Saturday 8November at the Gala Dinner Presentation held in Caloundra.
