With the prospect of continuing dry weather Whitsunday Regional Council wishes to remindresidents in Proserpine, Airlie Beach, Cannonvale, Jubilee Pocket and Shute Harbour andsurrounds, that Level Two Water Restrictions are in place.
Mayor Jenny Whitney said under Level Two restriction, water users in these areas are restricted to watering their gardens with sprinklers on alternate days.
“This means odd days of the month for odd numbered houses and even days of the month foreven numbered houses between 6am-8am and 6pm-8pm only,” she said.
“Level Two Water Restrictions also mean micro-spray or drip systems can only be operatedbetween 6pm and 8am, handheld trigger hoses can only be used between 5am and 9am and 5pm and 9pm. Washing down concrete is also restricted.
“We should all do our bit to conserve water to ensure the continued supply of water for theWhitsunday region,” she said.
There are currently no water restrictions in place in Bowen or Collinsville.
