Due to increased growth and excellent demand for direct flights to Sydney, Tiger Air is putting onadditional flights at Whitsunday Coast Airport over the Christmas and New Year period.
Whitsunday Regional Council Mayor Jenny Whitney said there will be an additional Tiger Air return service to Sydney on Monday the 29th December 2014 and Monday 5th January 2015.
“By Tiger Air putting on these extra flights, to meet demand, it shows how popular the direct route from Whitsunday Coast to Sydney is with locals and tourists,” she said.
“The direct flights started in April and have enjoyed good patronage since commencing, with theadditional Christmas and New Year demand prompting Tiger Air to add two additional flights.
“This is great news for locals visiting family or friends in Sydney and tourists looking to celebrateChristmas or New Years in the Whitsunday region.
“The two Monday flights will arrive at Whitsunday Coast Airport at 14.35 and depart for Sydney at 15.05, with check-in open from 13.05.
“Whitsunday Coast Airport is pleased to welcome the additional services and we hope it paves the way for more additional flights in the future,” she said.
