Whitsunday Regional Council is reminding primary producers and other agvet chemical users thatChemClear will be in the region from May to June to collect unwanted chemicals and bookings forcollections close on the 27th March.
Mayor Jenny Whitney said now is the perfect time to register your unwanted chemicals withChemClear.
“Across Queensland this year, Chemclear have already registered 26,500 litres of chemicals from 92 farmers and rural businesses for collection,” she said.
“Whitsunday Regional Council is pleased to be working with ChemClear and the QueenslandGovernment again this year to help collect and dispose of potentially dangerous agvet chemicalsfrom the local community.
“Once people have registered their unwanted chemicals online with ChemClear they will be given an appointment time to dispose of their chemicals.
“Whitsunday Regional Council is providing Kelsey Creek Landfill and Bowen Landfill as the venues for the ChemClear appointments,” she said.
