In less than a month, Whitsunday Regional Council will be hosting community garage sales ineach of the four townships, on the 24th October, as part of the national Garage Sale Trail.
Mayor Jenny Whitney said there is plenty of time to arrange your unwanted goods and joinCouncil’s garage sales across the region.
“Garage Sale Trail is fun and social way to promote reuse, reduce waste to landfill, buildcommunities and enable households, schools, community groups and businesses to fundraise alocal level,” Mayor Whitney said.
“This is a great, free, opportunity to sell your excess stuff and make a little money,” she said.
“It’s free to bring your ute or car boot or set up a table or blanket full of stuff to sell. You’ll be able to get rid of some unwanted items, make some money and might even purchase some treasure from someone else,
“People interested in attending are encouraged to register their interest on the Garage Sale Trailwebsite www.garagesaletrail.com.au ,
“Each of the four community garage sales are setup as events on the Garage Sale Trail websiteand interested people can join the group sale say they are attending as a stall holder.”Council community Garage Sales will be held from 8am-12pm at:

Garage Sale Trail, a national day of simultaneous garage sales, is now in its 5th year and upwards of 350,000 people are expected to take part in the initiative across Australia, with 120 Councils involved.
