Councillor for Division 4 Peter Ramage says the 2016/2017 Whitsunday Regional Council Budget will deliver fundamental upgrades to a range of highly utilised roads and bridges in his division.
“The most significant commitment comes in the form of $1.25 million to match the funding provided under Round Two of the Liberal National Government’s Bridges Renewal Program to replace the single lane timber Gregory River Bridge on Dingo Beach Road with a two-lane concrete bridge,” Cr Ramage said
“This upgrade will provide greater safety for our residents and ensure that our communities and local businesses have a more reliable road access to essential services,” he said.
“Other works will be undertaken at the Andromache Road Bridge in Proserpine, the Kelsey Creek Road Bridge and the Mount Wyatt Road Bridge in Collinsville.
“Council is also contributing $254,000 towards improving the Collinsville Showgrounds Precinct with an upgrade to the skate rink and the installation of irrigation, fencing, landscaping and pathways to be considered.”
