Whitsunday Regional Council last week resolved to commence the second round of public consultation for the draft Whitsunday Regional Council Planning Scheme on the 29th August 2016.
Mayor Andrew Willcox said that council are seeking community input on a variety of issues identified within the first round of public consultation for the draft planning scheme.
“While consultation has not yet officially commenced, I encourage residents to visit Council’s website and become familiar with the proposed scheme and the changes made since the first round of consultation,” Cr Willcox said.
“Council has prepared a video focussing on Airlie Beach to allow residents to learn more about the vision for the future and the opportunities available under the new scheme,” he said.
“By providing a visual medium showing the types of changes that may occur under the new scheme, we are hoping that residents will be able to better understand the proposed changes, particularly with building heights in the Airlie Beach precinct.
