The Whitsunday Regional Council Draft Planning Scheme Consultation will commence on Monday 29 August and from this time, anyone can make a submission.
Mayor Andrew Willcox said that residents should familiarise themselves with the various ways they can make a submission on the draft planning scheme.
“It is also important that the submissions are properly made under the Sustainable Planning Act 2009 to ensure they can be eligible for consideration by Council,” Cr Willcox said.
“I encourage residents that require assistance in lodging a submission to contact our team of Planners who will be more than happy to assist.”
Properly made submission requirements under the Sustainable Planning Act 2009;
• Be made to the Whitsunday Regional Council, during the public notification period (8am on Monday 29 August 2016 and 5pm on Friday 14 October 2016);
• Be written (or typed) and signed by each person who made the submission or submitted via the electronic portal http://yoursay.whitsundayrc.qld.gov.au/;
• State the name and residential or business address of each person who made the submission; and
• State the grounds of the submission and the facts and circumstances relied on in support of the grounds.
