Residents and visitors will be able to drop into the new pop-up-shop at 55 Main Street to chat with Council officers and have their say on the Proserpine Master Plan.
The shop will be fitted out with tea and coffee facilities, and maps of the area will be printed and hung on the wall so residents can draw out their ideas on paper.
The shop will be staffed by Council officers working on the project, who can answer the community’s questions about the Master Plan.
The shop will be open every day of the week from Monday 12 December until Thursday 22 December, between 8am and 5pm.
Mayor Andrew Willcox is encouraging everyone from Proserpine who would like to chat about the Master Plan in person to drop into the shop and have their say.
“We are collecting as many ideas as we can before we develop the Master Plan early next year, and Council wants to make it as easy as possible for people to give us their suggestions,” he said today.
“Anyone unable to leave feedback online at Your Say Whitsunday can easily visit the shop in person while out and about in the Main Street.”
“I strongly urge all residents to have a think about the future of the town and the dam, and help us unlock the potential of Proserpine.”
The shop will also be manned in the new year, and the days and times will be made available after Council offices open on Tuesday 3 January 2017.
And business owners are invited to attend the Business Groups Deliberation Forum being held on Wednesday 14 December 2016, from 6pm at the Proserpine Community Centre.
The Forum will allow another opportunity for business owners to have their say on the Proserpine Master Plan development.
