‘Visualising through Photography’ Workshop in Hydeaway Bay

Kim Percy, exhibited professional photographer and university lecturer, is the 2024 ARI artist-in-residence. As part of her two week residency in Cape Gloucester, Kim will present a free event talking about her art practice and sharing photos of her wok from 9 AM at GSRA in Hydeaway Bay. Following the free talk at 10 PM, Kim will lead participants in a ticketed event, on a stroll along the Hydeaway Bay foreshore. This workshop is an interactive exploration of the world through the lens of photography, rather than a conventional lecture. Participants are encouraged to bring a camera or smartphone, along with an open and curious mindset. In an age where 75 million images are uploaded daily, Kim challenges attendees to reconsider what photography truly means. The workshop is suitable for everyone—whether a professional photographer, hobbyist, or anyone interested in creative thinking. Tickets are available at www.whitsundaysartsfestival.org.
