Council launches online My Community Directory and Diary

Whitsunday Regional Council has partnered with My Community Directory, to provide an online community directory and event diary for the Whitsunday Region.

Mayor Andrew Willcox said the biggest benefit of the My Community Directory and Diary is providing locals and visitors to the region with a one-stop-shop for all community information and resources.

“This will make it easier to connect with local groups and the activities and services they offer,” Mayor Willcox said.

“The digital era has created some confusion with competing websites, but this new online platform will provide one central location for accurate and relevant information,” he said.

“The platform also enables community groups, organisations, not-for-profit groups and essential service providers to list their information and submit events for free.

“Once registered, organisations will be able to manage their listings, ensuring they are accurate and up to date, provide links to their websites and social media platforms and list upcoming events.

“So, if you’re an organisation offering a community service or activity in the Whitsunday Region, I encourage you to register today.”

The My Community Directory and Diary is accessible via Council’s website and will also be utilised by Council for sharing information about community events and activities.
