Nominate an Amazing Aussie for a 2022 Australia Day Award!
Do you know an amazing Aussie who does so much for our community and deserves to be recognised?
Well now is your chance to ‘sing it from the rooftops’ with a nomination for the 2022 Australia Day Awards!
Mayor Andrew Willcox said that every year, extraordinary residents and local groups are recognised on Australia Day for their invaluable contributions to our region.
“Each year I’m blown away by the incredible people I meet in our community whether it be our talented sportspeople, our hardworking community groups or just gifted individuals doing what they love,” Mayor Willcox said.
“There are countless people in our community working tirelessly without recognition and I’m sure everyone will know someone, young or old, who is an inspiration in their community,” he said.
“Let’s applaud these amazing individuals who have served their community and achieved incredible things by taking the time to nominate them for an Australia Day Award.
“This year we’ve made some changes to the Australia Day categories which we believe will encourage more nominations and make the process easier for people nominating.”
Categories include:
- Citizen of the year (aged 26 years and over)
- Young Citizen of the Year (aged 16 - 25 years)
