Gloucester Rural Fire Brigade are undertaking a planned hazard reduction burn on the Black Current headland, between Dingo Beach and Hydeaway Bay on Sunday 16 July, subject to weather conditions.

Planned burns are an important part of bushfire management, and help to reduce fuel loads and the risk of bushfire hazard.

It is recommended that residents near these locations take the following precautions:

- Keep windows closed for the duration of the fire

- Minimise washing placed on clothes lines

- Keep respiratory medication close by if needed

- Smoke may decrease visibility on roads so motorists are advised to drive with caution and to the conditions
