Water quality and pressure in Bowen

Whitsunday Regional Council would like to advise that residential and commercial properties in Bowen may be experiencing a change in water quality and or pressure.

Our staff are working hard to resolve the issue and you may see them flushing out pipes to clear the network. It is recommended that residents experiencing discoloured water flush the pipes in their home, by running an external tap until it runs clear.

The water supply is continuously monitored and tested at the treatment plant and in the reticulation network, and continues to meet all the strict requirements outlined in the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.
