Closure of Council Facilities - TC Kirrily
Due to Tropical Cyclone Kirrily impacting the coast, the following Council facilities are closed until further notice:
- Aquatic Facilities - re-opening midday Friday 26 January
- Proserpine Swimming Pool and Water Park
- Bowen Swimming Pool
- Bowen Water Park
- Airlie Beach Lagoon
- Collinsville Swimming Pool & Water Park
- Whitsunday Regional Libraries - re-opening Saturday 27th January as per normal hours
- Waste Facilities
- Regional transfer stations and landfills. Open
- Kerbside collection has ceased on Thursday 25 January and Friday 26 January. Services will recommence Monday 29th January.
- Proserpine Entertainment Centre - To be advised
- Lake Proserpine Campground - will re-open Saturday 27th January
- Whitsunday Coast Airport - Open
Whitsunday Coast Airport (WCA) remains open and is continuing to monitor Tropical Cyclone Kirrily. Our WCA team is meeting regularly with relevant authorities and key stakeholders, including airlines. We have been advised by all airline partners that they expect disruptions to scheduled flights. If you have a flight booked in or out of Whitsunday Coast Airport, please contact your airline directly for further information.
